Textures as unique as the exotic mantras of a far off land, colors as subtle as moon glow, or as riveting as a Chinese Dragon; patterns as vibrant as Tibetan sand paintings, or as natural and elegant as a seashell; CANNON/BULLOCK Wall Coverings are all of these things and more.

We begin with hand made papers from around the world. Made in the same way they have been for hundreds of years, from natural fibers sifted through hand made screens, rinsed by the running waters of natural streams. We color and finish the papers by hand in our Design Studios on Whidbey Island (not far from Seattle), and add unique patterns and materials, to some of them, such as hand dyed silk ribbons and Murano glass beads. We draw on the papers with time honored implements like old fashioned metal quill pens and Japanese brush pens; we paint patterns on them with unique colors, and guild them with gold, silver, and copper leaf, reminiscent of the aged patterns and shimmer of Venice. We compose them in patterns as graphic as a game of dominos and as subtle as layers of mica caught in granite. In short, we take age old materials and methods and create a modern material that speaks to us from nature; a material, made by the hands of man , not by the machines of man.

Our goal has been to create materials that you, as the designer, can design with. Like wood or stone, they are intended to be used as design materials allowing you to express your ideas and concepts. There is no single way to arrange or combine them. It is all up to the designer's imagination. Create your own image of nature, whether subtle and quiet as a sand dune, or vibrant and powerful as a maple tree in Autumn.
