Installation Instructions
Prepare walls, papers and apply to walls following the regular installation instructions.
These unique papers are generally combined in an installation with "blank" sheets of the same color from our China Wall Collection. It is critical to map out each wall before beginning the installation.
Couture Collection papers have a silk ribbon or band sewn to their face side. When pasted to a wall, the sewn thread is also pasted firmly in place giving the paper the strength it would not appear to have. These papers also have silk "tails" which hang off of the sheets by about 9 inches. Take care to keep paste from making contact with the silk. This is easily done by using drafting or other low-tack tape to hold the ribbons in place on the face surface of each sheet until in it is in place on the wall.
TIP: Using a stack of clean newsprint paper from a packing store, place each sheet of Couture face down on the newsprint with ribbons taped under. Paste, relax and apply to wall. Throw used newsprint sheet away.
After the wall has been papered and has dried, tie the ends of the ribbons together in slipknots or per designer's direction. Trim ends with sharp scissors.
Papers may be dusted or lightly vacuumed with a duster attachment.
Couture Lay-up Patterns:
All Couture Collection papers should be laid up in a "stacked" format. They may be bordered with "blank" sheets (China Wall) or vertical/horizontal patterned sheets may be used as borders.
Ribbons should be gathered after the wall is dry and tied into loose, neat slipknots and then trimmed to desired length.
